Sports injuries can be due to everyday conditions such as poor gait and posture, lack of fitness or using faulty equipment or just bad luck! Although the research evidence for treating sports injuries with manipulation alone is unclear, we may advise treating the spine with manipulation to improve overall joint biomechanics and function. We are able to treat the involved extremity joint (ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow, shoulder) or soft tissue injury with a variety of techniques, such as soft tissue massage, ultrasound, laser or acupuncture.
For example persistent shoulder tendonitis or tennis or golfers elbow may relate to a problem in the neck and respond to the different approach that chiropractic treatment can offer. We can also advise on rehabilitation, training and reconditioning and we can liaise with your personal trainer or gym instructor to make sure that your training regime gets rapidly back on track. Other conditions such as plantar fasciitis can relate to conditions with overpronation and benefit from orthotics or laser therapy.
